Work in Healthcare and Disease Control pillar comprise a large portion of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ programmes and projects, driven by objectives to combat major diseases and epidemics, prevent and treat infectious diseases, and provide healthcare services, particularly maternal and pediatric services, to disadvantaged communities.

This central pillar focuses on providing primary and preventative healthcare services, including surgical procedures, vaccination, examination and awareness campaigns and treatment programmes to alleviate the suffering in less fortunate communities.

Programmes launched by entities in Healthcare & Disease Control aim to support and fund medical research and scholarships, equip cadres of medical professionals and invest in capacity-building.
