Work under the Healthcare and Disease Control pillar comprises a large portion of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ programmes and projects, driven by objectives to combat major diseases and epidemics, prevent and treat infectious diseases, and provide healthcare services, particularly maternal and pediatric services, to disadvantaged communities.

This central pillar focuses on providing primary and preventative healthcare services, including surgery, vaccination and screening, as well as awareness campaigns and treatment programmes to alleviate the suffering in less fortunate communities.

Programmes launched by entities in Healthcare & Disease Control aim to support and fund medical research and scholarships, train and empower medical professionals and invest in capacity-building. These areas of work are designed to shape healthy environments that enable quick and effective response to major infectious diseases and epidemics, thereby ensuring public safety and wellbeing.
