Lakku Devi, 64, and Dev Narayan, 69, sought cataract treatment in India. Despite support from their youngest son, who was already burdened with the cost of his own diabetes treatment as well as supporting his three young children, the couple could not afford the surgery in their home country.
The couple heard about a treatment camp run by Noor Dubai in Nepal. Accompanied by their youngest son, they travelled to the camp on bicycles, where they did not have any accommodation. However, they were so determined to receive treatment that they endured these hardships, clinging to the hope that they would be cured and eventually return home.
The couple was examined by the medical team at Noor Dubai’s mobile eye camp, and they were approved for surgery. The couple asked the doctors if they could undergo surgery together, as they had not been separated since the day of their wedding.
Their sight was restored, and they returned to India. Their treatment journey had finally ended, and their journey towards recovery had begun.
